It is important that clarity exists between client and eChat counsellors of what is expected and what can be offered: Therefore please read through this agreement to ensure you are happy to undertake eChat counselling sessions and consequently accept the terms and conditions of this agreement.

Email Counselling

It is anticipated in most cases that a series of interactions will be required to effectively explore the issue/s that is/are presenting.

Generally you will receive a response within 24 - 48 hours but be aware that weekends and public holidays may increase this time.

Payment for Services

Refer to fees and services for details of eChat Email Counselling costs.

Payment is via Paypal or direct debit.

Termination

You choose when you wish to terminate your counselling. Unless there are extenuating circumstances eChat counsellors will support you no matter how short or long the process takes. The counsellor, due to extenuating circumstances also has the right to cancel the service provided at any time.

Extra Support

Should an eChat counsellor deem it necessary for you to seek alternative professional help they will inform you. It is your responsibility to either follow or not follow that advice.

Client Responsibilities

You have responsibilities in your relationship with your eChat Counsellor.

In order for your eChats to have the greatest value it is important that you are honest about any replies to questions posed by your counsellor. Remember that this is a human interaction and trust and respect are important. If you have any concerns about eChat counsellors, then please be open and share your concerns with them.

Confidentiality and Privacy

eChat counsellors are required to and will keep all of your personal information private except where the law requires disclosure. All records will be kept secure. The law requires disclosure:

1. •for the protection of a child;
   

2. •if there is a court order;
   

3. •to prevent a clear and imminent danger to yourself or others.
   

Your records will be kept for a minimum of 5 years in a secure and safe location. Your records will

then be destroyed in a manner that protects your privacy.

Safety

During counselling sessions it is critical that both clients and counsellors feel safe from all types of abuse. If at any time you or your counsellor do not feel safe you both have the right to interrupt or end the session as you see fit.  It is everyones right to feel safe and everyone’s responsibility to ensure a safe environment.

If you have any concerns over safety in relation to eChats, please communicate with your counsellor.

The materials used on this eChat website are a copyright of Soul Searching Solutions. You are therefore not allowed to use or reproduce any of the materials, documentation, processes, techniques etc except for your own personal use.

Email Acceptance

Please send an email to agreement@echat.net.au to indicate your acceptance of the terms and condition of entering into eChat counselling sessions.  Emailing your acceptance of the agreement means you have read and understood the contents of this document and that you agree to abide by the terms of this agreement. You also accept responsibility for any changes you choose to make in your life as a result of eChat counselling sessions.
